ABOUT

THE FERTILE CRESCENT IS A BAND FROM ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO.

If The Fertile Crescent had stuck with the name Killgun, you might have rightfully expected the kind of music that comes from listening to too much Big Black and Scratch Acid. Instead, the Fertile Crescent's actual sound skirts close to post-rock with its inspired, sonically rich atmospheres. Inside the unconventional song structures is an element of pop, if pop didn't have to follow such a restrictive formula. The group perfectly weaves rhythms inside rhythms, incorporates textures within textures and finds ingenious uses for odd yet fascinating tonal pairings, resulting in a scintillating, collaged tapestry of evocative aural delights that manages to be as immediate as it is contemplative. Flowering in the desert of the American Southwest, the Fertile Crescent is pioneering new methods of creating hypnotic psychedelia. (-Tom Murphy)

.... ...... ...... .. Once upon a time, four little boys lived with mother bear beneath the earth's crust. One day they heard a strange noise from above. It sounded as if the tectonik plates above were singing. Above the crust the boys went, only to find four strange objects. With these objects music was created, just noise at first, then into a euphonious melody. Mother bear then called them The Fertile Crescent. ..
